CERTIFIED SPECIALIST

WHAT A CERTIFIED SPECIALIST CAN DO FOR YOU*

The California State Bar certifies Legal Specialists to assist the public to identify attorneys demonstrating proficiency in specialized fields of law.

A Certified Specialist must take and pass a written exam in the particular area of specialty, and demonstrate a high level of experience in that area. The Certified Specialist must also complete continuing education requirements, and be favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with that attorney’s work.

Certified Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Specialist

A Certified Specialist will:

• Assist you in creating and implementing your estate plan with the preparation of Wills and Trusts.
• Use their expertise to minimize death, gift and income taxes.
• Assist in the resolution of probate, trust and conservatorship disputes.

Certified Taxation Law Specialist

A Certified Specialist will:

• Assist you in planning your personal and business activities in order to reduce income, property and death taxes.
• Represent you in tax controversies with the IRS or Franchise Tax Board to help protect your rights.
• Advise you on retirement plan benefits and life insurance to reduce tax problems.
• Assist you with complicated business transactions having to do with partnerships, corporate tax planning, and business sales.

A Certified Specialist is committed through their certification to keeping up their proficiency through continued practice and education.
